PECK BAND STUDENTS PERFORM AT DISNEY WORLD
APR 05, 2023
The Peck Band students recently got the chance of a lifetime to perform in Walt Disney World in Florida.
The band submitted an audition tape several months ago and won a chance to perform there.
The groups were awarded through the Disney Imagination Campus, which is a program and curriculum through Disney to help students solve problems and come up with ideas through imagination, creativity, creative thinking and thinking through new perspectives. Through this program, they also got to record their own music track behind a Disney movie and go through the same process the professionals would.
The group also visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, and the EPCOT theme park.
Special thanks to Bennett Travel and all chaperones for helping make this trip possible!
PECK BAND STUDENTS DELIVER AT DISTRICT FESTIVAL
MAR 14, 2023
On Saturday, March 11th, the Peck band students took their talents on stage at North Branch High School for the annual MSBOA (Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association) District 3 Festival. Both the Junior High Concert Band and the High School Symphonic Band earned straight Division I ratings across the board, the highest possible, from all judges. Each participating band was evaluated in the areas of tone, intonation, rhythm, technique and interpretation. After their prepared performances on stage, students headed to the sight reading room, which they have five minutes to prepare a piece of music and then perform it for a separate judge.
Both bands have now qualified for State Band Festival and this will take place in late April.
Congratulations band students!
